We generate debate and global reference knowledge on the societal implications of technology, to better anticipate tomorrow’s risks.
The Mobile World Capital Barcelona Observatory is a space for analysis and reflection that consolidates the production of strategic knowledge and is committed to developing periodic reports on the impact of digitalization in specific sectors of society and the economy.
At Mobile World Capital, the aim is to generate proprietary knowledge on strategic issues and create added-value content to drive the development of society and the economy. To this end, it focuses its efforts on areas such as digital talent, technology transfer, deep tech, trends in digital services and advanced communications, and the connection between humanism and technology.
This commitment includes sharing this knowledge at all levels, from specialized groups to the general public.

MWCapital compiles all the work of knowledge creation in this transversal Observatory that develops key reports of the previously mentioned trends and frequent analyses and reflections, as well as establishing synergies with other institutions at a global level.
The Observatory proposes reports, guides, conclusions, whitepapers, or other appropriate formats to share the knowledge obtained in each project and distribute it to the public and different sectoral agents involved.
We investigate the impact of technology on society
We identify emerging and relevant issues in the technological field that have a significant potential impact on society. This is achieved through consultation with experts, review of existing literature, and analysis of current trends.

We culminate diverse teams including experts in technology, social sciences, economics, and public policy. This ensures a holistic understanding of the topics.
Methodology
In the previous stage, data is collected, considering multiple perspectives and possible scenarios. Discussions and roundtables with experts and stakeholders are organized to discuss preliminary findings. The result of this process is the production of reports that include analysis and recommendations.
The reports are published and discussed through conferences, seminars, and the media. This fosters an informed public dialogue about the impact of technology on society.
